Tungsten steel wire drawing dies are referred to as TC drawing dies. Due to its easy processing and low cost, tungsten carbide is also chosen as the core material for most of the profiled and stranded moulds.
Advantages:
- High hardness, good thermal conductivity, low coefficient of friction.
- Uniform wear during use.
- Lower cost, used in some very high loss, high hardness wire processes.
- Tungsten carbide cores can withstand temperatures of up to 2800°C. They are available in sizes from 0.15 mm to 1.5 mm.
- Sizes range from 0.15mm-55mm (larger or smaller sizes on request).
Applications:
Tungsten Carbide dies are widely used in applications that require high temperature resistance, impact resistance and only short-term use. The low price of tungsten carbide moulds makes this possible.
